The Challenge

Direct Sales Area Sales Manager (ASM) manages all inside (phone) sales and account management efforts for assigned geographic territories. Direct Sales ASMs work toward achieving specified sales targets and goals and provide world class customer experiences while ensuring quality and consistency of product delivery for GE Appliances’ Builder/Hospitality channel customer base.

What you will Do

Essential Responsibilities:

Develop rapport with customers and actively solicit for new accounts from initial call to close while achieving and exceeding assigned quarterly and annual sales targets.

Execute and deliver all sales and margin operating plan goals.

Implement aggressive, proactive call schedule to increase sales growth and productivity (outbound calling, customer touch percentage), achieving and exceeding assigned quarterly and yearly sales targets.

Analyze market, sales strategies and current competitor products to create account and territory plans.

Partner with local Distributors to share leads and grow both the Direct and Indirect sales channels

Set up customer accounts and support the credit/ risk team

Support customers with service and post sales issues when necessary

Identify new business opportunities and develop marketing strategies to grow sales territory.

Use digitization tools to improve overall sales effectiveness

Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Attend Trade Shows as requested.

Process orders, train participants on appliance features and functionality.

What you need to Succeed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of one year sales experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior appliance sales experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience in developing, organizing and implementing sales plans that support business objectives.

  • Ability to build and grow strong customer relationships.

  • Proven negotiating skills; must be tenacious at driving sales to obtain results.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills

  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently; must be self-motivated and driven to succeed.

  • Ability to interface with all levels of management as well as peers.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

  • Previous phone-based sales experience strongly preferred.

  • Proven understanding of the dynamics of the local Builder and Hospitality industry.
