Learning & Development Specialist

The Challenge

Working closely with the O&TD leader, Learning Leader, and Learning Program Manager(s), the Learning Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional learning experiences to the employees at GE Appliances. The Learning Specialist is responsible for new hire orientation and professional and leadership development offerings. The Learning Specialist manages logistics of executing learning events on campus and as needed at other locations.

What you will Do

Manages business logistics for professional and leadership (GROW) Workshops:

  • Creates calendar for training delivery events

  • Orders and organizes meals, supplies, and presentation decks

  • Manages the financial bill back process for enterprise learning

  • Manages enterprise learning content and delivery including vendor contracts and billing

  • Provides quarterly reporting on financials for GROW workshops

Maintain learning quality for GROW Workshops at The Park:

  • Partners with Learning Leader on vendor selection

  • Assists Learning Leader with auditing courses to ensure excellence of delivery

  • Audits presenters to ensure GEA Standards are being met

  • Partner with Learning Leader and vendors to continuously improve content and delivery of workshops

  • Creates and administers evaluations for courses to determine levels 1-3 impact.

Serves as LMS Administrator for all Enterprise delivery courses and content in GEA learning portal and other vendor web-based systems:

  • Creates all catalog items and curricula for all GEA Enterprise GROW Workshops

  • Maintains information in the GROW Catalog of workshops for description, facilitation and available datesSchedules course offerings and manages attendance list; adding sessions as demand increases

  • Provides reporting from LMS monthly for attendance, evaluation, and financial metrics

  • Partners with HR Communications on strategy and delivery of communications for workshops

Program Leader for New Employee Orientation program

  • Coordinate invitation and tracking for attendees

  • Coordinate facilitation (or provide necessary facilitation) for the NEON program and networking reception

  • Assess and provide feedback of the programs impact on attendees

  • Partner with Learning Leader to continuously improve content and delivery of NEON Orders and organizes meals, supplies, and presentation decks

Other related duties as assigned

  • Manages all L&D supply needs

  • Coordinates L&D resource and maintenance needs

  • Participate in the Enterprise Learning Council and provide updates as necessary

  • Attend conferences to strengthen or improve training and content delivery

What you need to Succeed

Bachelor’s degree in HR, adult learning, education, business or related field. Minimum of 3 years experience handling logistics for large scale initiatives in a corporate environment

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent communication (oral & written) skills

  • Able to handle multiple priorities

  • Able to deal with ambiguity

  • Collaborative, team oriented style, yet able to work independently

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with SaaS systems; LMS implementation and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors or better in Training & Development or related field.

  • Experience with SuccessFactors LMS
