Work closely with global engineering resources and suppliers on refrigerator and components development for all kind of Appliances
What you will Do
Work cross-functionally with Technology, Marketing and Suppliers as needed on the design of refrigerator and components development for all kind of Appliances
Use DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) techniques to specify, design, analyze and validate that the product meets performance, cost, reliability and manufacturability design targets
Lead and execute projects in support of Sourced product development and sourcing initiatives for refrigerator and components development for all kind of Appliances in Asia
This is a hands-on engineering position leading the major sourced product develop efforts for new innovations. As a member of a small fast-paced multi-disciplinary team, you will use your creativity and diverse range of engineering experience to explore solutions to a variety of engineering problems. As a Senior Design engineer & Technology Program Manager, you participate in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts directly with FirstBuild and the suppliers.
This position will work with the GEA sourcing team to locate manufacturers for new product innovations at FirstBuild.
Responsible for optimizing cost, quality, performance, innovation, that wows our customers
Work with the FirstBuild autopsy lab to Analyze quality problems through data analysis, field returns and experimentation to create more robust icemaker designs to reduce SCR.
Be responsible for understanding and resolving all reliability, field quality concerns for products
Willing to travel to visit domestic other manufacturing site and design center
What you need to Succeed
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years design experience in sourced product experience in consumer home products and appliances
Refrigeration or room air, expertise in sealed system design and analysis preferred
3 years in program management
Excellent analytical skills and experience in the use of problem solving- Skillfully use 3 CAD CREO software- Skillfully use analytic analysis
Demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented environment
Demonstrated initiative, drive, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Fluent in English, including writing and oral
Rich experience in new product development and supplier qualification projects
Six Sigma certified Green Belt or Black Belt
Experience in working with global design teams
Knowledge on 3rd party requirements/standards such as DOE, UL, CU, AHAM etc.
